In a statement sent on social networks, the organizers announced that:
“On February 22, from the Venezuela France Mobile Number List Aid Live organization we cried out for peace, humanitarian aid and justice with a language that is universal and peaceful: music, because its basis is love and understanding; It was with this message that we reached the hearts of millions of people and raised $2,485,000 in donations to date.”
Donations from several countries are still open on the website venezuelaaidlive.com , and it is expected to reach the goal set within the deadline that expires on April 22.
According to the organizers, millions of people of multiple nationalities were raised aware of the humanitarian emergency that Venezuela is suffering.
In addition, the money raised will be used for humanitarian aid through a sustainable, effective and transparent social investment for Venezuela, the organizers said.
“This collection will be made over the course of two months, until April 22, during which time a study will be made of the main needs and the best destination for this aid,” they added.
Venezuela Aid Live was promoted by British magnate Richard Branson, founder of the group Virgin, who visited the Tienditas international bridge in Cúcuta to participate in the concert.
Let us remember that through a statement, the concert organized by the businessman and philanthropist was confirmed: "the world can no longer close its eyes to this unacceptable situation. “While diplomatic efforts to bring in humanitarian goods must get underway, we must all mobilize much-needed financial support, and we must do so quickly.”
Branson says he volunteered to help organize an international relief concert along with Bruno Ocampo and that there will be a “wonderful lineup” of Latin American and global artists, “who will donate their time and talent to bring global attention to this crisis and to collect funds for essential humanitarian aid.”
